Technical assistance to the Social Cluster Portfolio of IDC

The purpose of the assignment is to expedite the implementation of the IDC social cluster team by providing advisory and analytical support to the IDC Director responsible for the Social cluster as a stop-gap measure until a new deputy director is recruited for the above portfolio.. Specific areas of support will include review of and advice on:

• USAID support to Department of Health – annual implementation letters;
• PEPFAR support – migration to SA systems;
• US Aid review;
• Canadian Aid review;
• Basic Education – USAID funding;
• VP sustainability plan.

Type of services provided

The core services were provided by Senior Advisory Expert. Core Services included:

• Review of and advice on financing proposals, work plans and annual plans;
• Advisory support on aid programme reviews;
• Advisory support to preparations for annual consultations;
• Advisory support on issues and challenges affecting programme implementation and delivery;

Advisory support on Aid Effectiveness.
