Detailed description of project Back

The specific objective of the Program is to improve the access of education and also to improve the quality of the education system.

The activities of the PASEC cover all levels of the education system, from pre-school to higher education – included VET, in the three islands of the country.

The five main activities are:

  • To organize awareness campaign for girls education;
  • To rehabilitate and build classrooms;
  • To provide schools and facilities with equipment and materials;
  • To train (pre-service and in-service) teachers, inspectors, administrators, directors, supervisors and managers;
  • To support the institutional re-organisation of the four ministries of education (at national level and at the three islands levels).

Type of services provided

PROMAN provides the services of a Technical Assistance team comprising:

  • One expert in charge of all technical and operational aspects, expert in capacity building (461 working days);
  • One expert in monitoring/evaluation and institutional support (192 working days);
  • 2 short term expertsone VET expert, the other teacher training expert (2 X 120 working days);
  • A pool of short term experts (7) (237 working days) covering various subjects: school management, coaching and counselling, school inspection, reform of higher education (Bologna).

PROMAN HQ ensures overall backstopping services / quality control.
