Detailed description of project Back

Since 09/2021, PROMAN, in consortium with I&D, has been providing technical assistance to Niger’s FCSE through the mobilization of 15 international and national experts, based in Niamey and in the regions, with funding from the Agence Française de Developpement. UNICEF has granted the consortium, with the same experts, additional funds to capitalize on this experience and remain operational for a longer period.

  • Specific objectives:
  • Support the continuity of the FCSE and reduce fiduciary risks.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of education services and enhancing the skills of stakeholders.
  • To strengthen planning, monitoring-evaluation and budget execution in the ministries of education.
  • Key tasks carried out:
  • Development and implementation of capacity building plans.
  • Training of central and regional staff in accounting and financial procedures.
  • Development of tools for managing and monitoring the ESF.
  • Methodological support for public procurement.
  • Expected results :
    • Strengthened capacity of sector ministries and local authorities in education management.
    • Improved financial and technical reporting, with a reduction in ineligible expenditure (0.49% in 2023).
  • Improved coordination between technical partners and national education bodies.
