Detailed description of project Back
Developed by WHO and UNICEF, the EASE program is an evidence-based group psychosocial intervention, targeting adolescents aged 10 to 15 experiencing emotional distress. It aims to provide them with practical skills to recognize, understand and manage their emotions, reduce stress, develop problem-solving strategies, and strengthen resilience.
The program consists of seven structured sessions for adolescents and three sessions for their parents or caregivers. It is designed to be implemented in schools by non-specialist facilitators who are trained and supervised. It is therefore particularly suited to the Tunisian educational context, where specialized mental health resources are limited.
The objective of this consultancy is to train educational, psychological, and social staff from schools in the EASE approach. The staff will mainly come from middle schools involved in the M4D program (Four-Component Model for the prevention of school dropout) but also from institutions in other regions with high numbers of adolescents in difficulty. This training aims to strengthen the capacities of frontline actors in school, social, and community settings, enabling them to identify, support, and effectively assist adolescents in emotional distress, while promoting their psychosocial well-being and emotional resilience.
On the other hand, the main objective of this mission is to adapt and contextualise the EASE programme manual, which already exists in Arabic, so that it is fully relevant and operational in the Tunisian context, as well as all supporting documents (booklet for staff responsible for children, posters, activity book, story book).
