Detailed description of project Back
The status of pilot secondary school is granted to a secondary school by order of the Minister of Education and Science published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Tunisia.
According to Article 1 of Decree No. 92-1184 of 22 June: “pilot secondary schools are secondary education establishments attended by an elite group of pupils who have obtained their basic education leaving certificate and who have distinguished themselves through their aptitudes, enabling them to pursue their studies under specific conditions designed to develop their abilities in order to reach the highest levels in the fields of science, technology, arts, and physical education and sports, and to pursue courses of excellence in higher education.
This order sets out the specializations of each pilot secondary school. Pilot secondary schools may specialize in more than one field among the fields of science, technology, literature, arts, languages of instruction and physical education and sports.
The main objective of the study is to provide technical support to the Ministry of Education in conducting a qualitative and quantitative study of pilot middle schools and secondary schools in order to determine the extent to which these institutions meet the needs of Tunisian society today and tomorrow and guarantee the right of all Tunisian children to a high-quality and equitable public education.
The specific objectives of the study are as follows:
The principal objective of this study is to bring a technical support to the Ministry of Education to lead a qualitative and quantitative study, on pilot middle and high schools in order to know in which measure these establishments answer to today and tomorrow’s needs for the Tunisian society and allow to guarantee the right for all the Tunisians kids to a quality and equitable public education.
