Detailed description of project Back
In January 2012, the Global Partnership for Education Secretariat informed the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania of an indicative allocation of US$100 million for a Program Implementation Grant to support the country’s efforts to provide quality basic education for all. The allocation is to be divided between the Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar. There is a general agreement to aim for submission of a funding application by early 2013. The education sector plan appraisal and endorsement of Zanzibar Education Sector Programme (ZEDP) 2008/2009-2015/2016 is already in progress and the Embassy of Sweden is now committed to support the application for the Program Implementation Plan (step 4) according to the GPE Country Level Process Guide (dated August 2012).
