Detailed description of project Back

Within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership, the regional programme has a major objective to promote the role of women in the economy and to reinforce the cooperation in this field, between the 10 Mediterranean partners (Algeria, Palestinian authority, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey) and the 25 member states of the EU.

There are four principal objectives for this regional programme :

  • Improve the integration of women into the labour market;
  • Facilitate the creation and the management of businesses by women;
  • Provide better access to financial mechanisms and tools;
  • Develop actions destined to reinforce capacities and vocational training for public administration staff, personnel of resource centres, focal points and NGOs.

In follow-up to the Ministerial Conference in Istanbul, the main objective of the present mission will be to provide two documents and continue technical support for the implementation of the conclusions adopted during the conference, by the implementation of a system of follow-up and the preparation of a committee ad hoc.
