Employment creation is one of the main challenges facing Egypt in the medium term. The development of small and micro enterprises is crucial within this context and asks for supporting measures to develop the entrepreneurship and to offer financial and non-financial services.The EU has been providing support through the Social Fund for Development (SDF). The assistance in the field of small enterprises development has been channelled through the Small Enterprise Development Organisation (SEDO) one of the SFD’s programmes.
The objective of this mission is to identify possible strategies for the EU support to employment creation and income generation based on sustainable small and micro-enterprise development targeted to low-income groups.
