Detailed description of project Back

The objective of the mission is to evaluate the results reached by the project in light of its setup, objectives, and the specific context of its implementation. It’s important to verify to what degree the School Map has met, in a prompt and well suited way, the demand of Niger’s authorities and services for good quality data to improve the decision-making process.

The evaluation should help those authorities to strengthen, increase and/or adapt the tool that is the School Map, within the context of a program approach, and to review the connections that exist between the SIS data and the School Map data.

This evaluation should as well situate itself within the new context following the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy in general and specifically the ten-year Education Development Programme and within the frame of the reorganization of the Ministry of Basic Education and Literacy

Lastly it should take into account the recently started reform of the national statistics system through the setup of a National Institute for Statistics. This process is specifically supported by the EC through the 9th EDF.
