The ASEAN-EU University Network Programme (AUNP) is a higher education co-operation programme jointly funded and implemented by the European Commission (EC) and the ASEAN University Network (AUN), assisted by a Programme Management Office (PMO) in Bangkok. The AUNP provides under its Partnership Projects’ Grant strand (PP) funding for university collaboration in Human Resources Development, Curriculum Development and Common Applied Research. Under a second strand, the Network Initiatives (NI), AUNP organizes rectors’ conferences, round table meetings and workshops on higher education (HE) topics of mutual interest for ASEAN and EU, further, Technical Assistance Mission (TA) to the benefit of the AUN. While the first activity provides financial support to collaborative projects of higher education institutions from both regions, the second, facilitates knowledge sharing and exchange of experience between universities and other HE stakeholder institutions and organisations of the two regions.
The Programme started in April 2002 and finalised in January 2006; four annual work plans were implemented including several events and 20 HE cooperation projects.
The objective of this evaluation is to evaluate the results and impact of the AUNP with regard to:
