Detailed description of project Back
The provinces of Siem Reap and Kampong Cham are among the most populated provinces in Cambodia. The Northern part of the Siem Reap province has been poorly covered in terms of access to Education.
The general objective of the project will be to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction and alleviation through increasing of training levels especially for the more disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
In view of the priorities of the Government of Cambodia’s strategic plan and as stipulated in the General Agreement on Cooperation between Belgium and Cambodia, the specific objectives of the project will concentrate on formal basic education and teacher’s training.
The main goals will be to enhance access to schooling, to fight dropouts and repetition and to improve quality and performance of basic education, in order to make it more adapted to the needs of the surrounding communities and their environment.
The identification phase, carried out by 2 consultants (one Education expert and one Education economist), develops an agreed broad programme framework including the programme objectives and the areas for project intervention. It indicates the broadly agreed programme components, provides indicative costs and provides the general implementation framework.
