Technical Assistance - Youth Sounding Board Back

The objective of the project is to contribute to enhanced youth engagement and youth inclusion in the EU Delegation to Ethiopia’s programmes and policies.

The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are as follows:

  • SO1: To provide technical and administrative assistance to the EU Delegation’s Youth Sounding Board to efficiently and effectively implement its role and fulfil its mandate.
  • SO2: To assist the EU Delegation in closing the second cohort of the YSB and in setting up the third cohort of the Youth Sounding Board by the end of the tenure of the ongoing Board (December 2025).

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills:

  • Completed University Studies of at least 3 years in (international) development, social/political/international relations science, public policy, attested by Diploma. In its absence, 5 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Language skills: English – Fluent Amharic – Fluent.

General professional experience:

  • At least 6 years professional experience in the design or management of projects in the fields of youth empowerment, participation and youth inclusion or other field relevant to this assignment.

Specific professional experience:

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in implementing strategies and projects (including capacity building) targeting youth in at least two of the following thematic areas: (i) gender and women empowerment, (ii) climate smart agriculture and natural resources management, (iii) health and addressing vulnerabilities, (iv) human rights and good governance.
  • Research, reporting writing, networking and communications competencies.
  • The following knowledge and experience will constitute additional assets: Experience as social entrepreneur, educator, trainer, or grassroots youth worker.
