EU in Nepal Civil Society, Gender and Youth Facility Back

The overall objective (Impact) of this service is a strengthened implementation of the EU’s strategic priorities in Nepal by enhancing the engagement with civil society, youth and gender actors through the comprehensive Global Gateway approach.

The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are to assist the EU Delegation to Nepal in the following areas:

  • Specific objective (Outcome) 1: Support the EU Delegation in implementing the strategic policies and action plans for civil society, human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and youth engagement, in alignment with EU commitments and the Global Gateway 360-degree approach. (Component 1. EU POLICIES & COMMITMENTS).
  • Specific objective (Outcome) 2: Facilitate engagement and dialogue with youth, gender actors and civil society, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into the EU initiatives in country. (Component 2. FACILITATE DIALOGUES)
  • Specific objective (Outcome) 3: Enhance understanding and develop capacities related to civil society, youth, gender and social inclusion and human rights. (Component 3. KNOWLEDGE & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT)
  • Specific objective (Outcome) 4: Establish partnerships and collaborations with civil society, gender and youth groups, and engage new stakeholders within Global Gateway initiatives. (Component 4: PARTNERSHIP)

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills :

  • A master’s degree in social sciences, international relations, international development, economics or another relevant discipline. In its absence, the master’s degree can be replaced by a bachelor plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, in addition to the minimum general professional experience required below;
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication, writing, and editing skills.

General professional experience of the team:

  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience on civil society;
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience supporting an EU institution, preferably in the EU External Action.

Specific professional experience of the team:

  • Minimum 3 years as Team Leader or equivalent, of a team of experts in fields related to engagement with Civil Society which include collaboration with diverse stakeholders and multiple organisations;
  • Experience in performing studies, analysis, evaluations and or publications on civil society;
  • Experience in Asian countries, and in particular in Nepal, is an asset;
  • Experience in EU policies and or in supporting EU Delegation on civil society roadmaps and/or gender action plans is an asset;
  • Experience in the context of integrating civil society in the context of the EU Global Gateway 360 degree approach is an asset.
