EU in Nepal Civil Society, Gender and Youth Facility Back
The overall objective (Impact) of this service is a strengthened implementation of the EU’s strategic priorities in Nepal by enhancing the engagement with civil society, youth and gender actors through the comprehensive Global Gateway approach.
The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are to assist the EU Delegation to Nepal in the following areas:
- Specific objective (Outcome) 1: Support the EU Delegation in implementing the strategic policies and action plans for civil society, human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and youth engagement, in alignment with EU commitments and the Global Gateway 360-degree approach. (Component 1. EU POLICIES & COMMITMENTS).
- Specific objective (Outcome) 2: Facilitate engagement and dialogue with youth, gender actors and civil society, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into the EU initiatives in country. (Component 2. FACILITATE DIALOGUES)
- Specific objective (Outcome) 3: Enhance understanding and develop capacities related to civil society, youth, gender and social inclusion and human rights. (Component 3. KNOWLEDGE & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT)
- Specific objective (Outcome) 4: Establish partnerships and collaborations with civil society, gender and youth groups, and engage new stakeholders within Global Gateway initiatives. (Component 4: PARTNERSHIP)
Qualifications
Qualifications and skills :
- A master’s degree in international development, social sciences, public administration, public policy, MBA, or another relevant discipline. In its absence, the master’s degree can be replaced by a bachelor plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, in addition to the minimum general professional experience required below;
- Fluent in English with excellent communication, writing, and editing skills.
General professional experience of the team:
- At least 3 years of experience working in youth engagement, development or related fields;
- Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholders activities and facilitating collaboration among diverse groups is an asset;
- Experience in managing Youth Sounding Board is an asset.
Specific professional experience of the team:
- Experience with the design, management, and evaluation of initiatives supporting young people, particularly mobilisation and engagement;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with civil society organisations and other stakeholders to promote youth interests;
- Proficiency in developing training materials and organising youth-focused workshops and events is an asset;
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of youth issues in Asia, and possibly in Nepal, is an asset;
- Knowledge and experience with EU global youth policies and programs is an asset;
- Knowledge of Nepali is an asset.
