EU in Nepal Civil Society, Gender and Youth Facility Back
The overall objective (Impact) of this service is a strengthened implementation of the EU’s strategic priorities in Nepal by enhancing the engagement with civil society, youth and gender actors through the comprehensive Global Gateway approach.
The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are to assist the EU Delegation to Nepal in the following areas:
- Specific objective (Outcome) 1: Support the EU Delegation in implementing the strategic policies and action plans for civil society, human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and youth engagement, in alignment with EU commitments and the Global Gateway 360-degree approach. (Component 1. EU POLICIES & COMMITMENTS).
- Specific objective (Outcome) 2: Facilitate engagement and dialogue with youth, gender actors and civil society, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into the EU initiatives in country. (Component 2. FACILITATE DIALOGUES)
- Specific objective (Outcome) 3: Enhance understanding and develop capacities related to civil society, youth, gender and social inclusion and human rights. (Component 3. KNOWLEDGE & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT)
- Specific objective (Outcome) 4: Establish partnerships and collaborations with civil society, gender and youth groups, and engage new stakeholders within Global Gateway initiatives. (Component 4: PARTNERSHIP)
Qualifications
Qualifications and skills :
- A master’s degree in gender studies, social science, international relations, or another relevant discipline. In its absence, the master’s degree can be replaced by a bachelor plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, in addition to the minimum general professional experience required below;
- Fluent in English with excellent communication, writing, and editing skills.
General professional experience of the team:
- At least 10 years of experience working on governance, democracy, gender equality, and/or civil society issues, with a strong focus on gender dynamics;
- Minimum 5 years professional experience on gender and social inclusion.
Specific professional experience of the team:
- Comprehensive understanding of EU strategic priorities and frameworks;
- Proven track record in designing, managing, and evaluating support modalities for civil society and international organisations, with a focus on capacity development for gender-related initiatives;
- Skilled in coordinating efforts among diverse organisations to ensure effective collaboration and programme synergy;
- Experience in organising consultation sessions and facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues, particularly involving women’s groups and civil society organisations, with a focus on gender issues;
- Knowledge of gender monitoring and evaluation processes is advantageous;
- Familiarity with the socio-political context of Nepal, especially regarding gender dynamics, women’s rights, and empowerment initiatives, is beneficial.
