Detailed description of project Back
The Social Fund For Development in Yemen (SFD-Y) is active throughout the country from its Head office in Sana’a and its 7 Regional offices (Over 100 Staff members (including ancillary staff) and a wide range of hired consultants upon request). The SFD-Y designs and finances projects addressed to a great number of beneficiaries, mostly poor and remote communities and/or vulnerable groups of the Yemeni population. The resources come from diversified origins (National and International Funding Agencies).
Indicatively, projects either directly implemented by beneficiary communities or through a contracted consultant/company, cover the following sectors of intervention: Health, Vulnerable groups, Education, Training/Capacity building, Water and Environment, cultural Heritage, Micro-finance, Micro and Small Enterprises. More recently the SFD-Y decided strengthening the local councils capacity building in the framework of the Yemeni Government policy of decentralization.
The specific objective of the present assignment is the improvement of the SFD efficiency in conducting its activities and monitoring its achievements as well as the improvement of the capacity of its staff and associated local consultants to perform and to face new challenges.
