The Overall Objective (Impact) is to utilize strategic people-to-people programs in the cultural sector to empower EU creative actors to enhance mutual understanding and build trust and appreciation for EU values and priorities in the US, especially across the creative industries and general public
The specific objectives of this contract are as follows:
- Increase understanding and support for EU values across the US by using emerging artists as cultural ambassadors to reach the wider American public through accessible pop culture platforms and local community engagement.
- Establish opportunities for European visual and performance artists to engage in immersive programs with American counterparts that facilitate relationship building, knowledge sharing, creative collaboration, educational training, professional growth, and interaction with the American public.
- Build long lasting transatlantic cultural networks at the grassroots as well as institutional levels with long-life opportunity for exchange, collaboration, and professional growth as the cultural industries and political contexts evolve over time.
Qualifications
Qualifications and skills:
- University level degree or equivalent in the liberal arts, arts management, arts education, visual art, museum administration, communication, or business management; OR has been honored nationally or internationally for their work in the field of the arts.
- Minimum five years of working with the U.S. cultural industries, with a preference for artist-in- residence programs.
- Participation in at least one project involving international artist exchanges, training or education.
- At least two years of experience of partnership building and negotiation in the field of artist residencies or exchanges.
- At least two years of experience in audience engagement and communication strategies;

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (another EU language would be an asset).
General professional experience:
- Minimum seven years of professional experience in any of the following areas: international relations (preferably including the EU), cultural industries, educational or professional international exchanges, networking activities.
- Minimum two years of professional experience in the management of cultural industries professionals.
