The overall objective (Impact) to which this contract will contribute is to enhance the EU-ASEAN partnership and reduce negative environmental impacts, as well as climate-related and disaster risks covering key areas of the European Green Deal.

This aligns with the Multiannual Indicative Programme (Regional MIP Asia and Pacific 2021-2027) which identifies implementing the EU’s new Strategic Partnership with ASEAN, notably in the areas of green and inclusive sustainable development as one of the main objectives of EU-ASEAN cooperation.

The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are as follows:

• Outcome 1: Cooperation with and within ASEAN for developing and implementing ambitious climate policies is improved;
• Outcome 2: The equitable and sustainable management of regional natural capital and landscapes is made more effective;
• Outcome 3: The transition towards sustainable and climate resilient food systems in ASEAN is promoted;
• Outcome 4: The transition towards clean energy and greater energy efficiency is accelerated.

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills:

• A minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent relevant to the science, economics, law or governance of sustainable food systems, or 15 years of equivalent professional experience directly relevant to sustainable food systems;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English language. Proficiency in at least one additional official language of the ASEAN member states would be preferred.

General professional experience:

• A minimum of 10 years professional experience in areas directly relevant to sustainable food systems.

Specific professional experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in providing technical assistance services to government entities or regional/international organisations;
• Relevant professional experience of at least 5 years working in Southeast Asia would be preferred;
• Previous experience with EU-funded projects would be preferred.
