The global objective is to enhance social inclusion issues and initiatives in the implementation of the Support to Sustainable Rural Livelihoods programme.

The specific objectives of this assignment are:

• As directed, provide written or oral advice to TA-SRL experts or to the MoA to facilitate project outputs that are more socially (particularly in relation to gender, youth and vulnerable communities) inclusive;
• Review TA-SRL documents and advise on improving social inclusion;
• Advice the MoA in the implementation of the Gender and Youth policies and towards more effectively mainstreaming gender and youth.

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills:

• Degree in social sciences, anthropology, or closely related discipline (minimum requirement – MR);
• Fluent in spoken and written English (MR);
• Computer proficiency in standard office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word) (MR).

General professional experience:

• 6 years’ experience working in the social sector (MR);
• Good understanding of communities and social dynamics in Fiji (MR).

Specific professional experience:

• 2 years’ experience advising, investigating, or publishing on social inclusion issues (MR);
• 3 years’ experience working in the social sector in Fiji (MR);
• Capacity to review large documents quickly (PR);
• Experience working as a gender advisor in the public sector will be an asset (PR).

The services will be required on an as-needed basis over a period of approximately 19 months, ending on 03 February 2024.
