The overall objective of the assignment is to allow the EU, its Member States and the broader public to obtain a regularly updated qualitative and quantitative information on the EU and EU MS Aid for Trade and to assess the performance and impact of the EU (and its MS) AfT, so as to mobilise increased and better Aid for Trade, in line with the principles of the 2017 EU Joint Strategy on Aid for Trade.

The specific objective of the assignment is to support DG DEVCO in collecting, analysing, synthesising, reporting and communicating on the EU AfT related actions for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.


A category II expert (Junior) is necessary for the collection, statistical processing and restitution of data as well as consolidation/drafting of the report (quantitative) and case stories, support for preparation of the brochures and flyers and various presentations on AfT, for the communication campaign.

Qualifications and skills:

  • University degree in statistics, econometrics, data processing, IT, or equivalent;
  • Good team player skills;
  • Ability to work under time pressure and swiftly process large amount of information and data and produce written and charts outputs.

General professional experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in statistical data collection, information and data processing, including ODA data (preferably data from the OECD CRS database).

Specific professional experience:

  • Experience in the use of relevant IT tools (databases, spreadsheets, pivot tables, statistical programmes, etc.), including for the creation of statistical charts for data visualisation;
  • Experience in the implementation of online surveys and processing of survey results (preferably in EU Survey system);
  • Previous experience in working on data processing the areas covered by AfT is an advantage.

Language skills:

  • At least C1 level of English for report writing skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages available at, as demonstrated by a certificate or by past relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of French is a plus as some outputs may be produced in French.
