The global objective is to support economic diversification and job creation in Botswana.

The purpose of this assignment is to provide technical assistance and policy advice to the Government of Botswana in order to:

  • Improve Botswana business environment and investment climate;
  • Upgrade Botswana tourism value chain by increasing investments and job creation in sustainable tourism patterns.


Qualifications and skills:

  • A post-graduate degree in Economics, business or any other related field, or equivalent of 2 years of general professional experience in addition to the minimum requirement.

General professional experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in business climate-related technical assistance working with government agencies and multiple stakeholders.

Specific professional experience:

  • Experience in managing relevant programmes and overseeing implementation of programmes in the area of business environment reforms;
  • Strong track record in project management and monitoring;
  • Experience in capacity building and training programmes is highly desirable;
  • Proven capacity to coordinate multi-component projects, to facilitate public-private dialogue and to lead multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
  • Experience with e-governance reforms is an asset;
  • Familiarity with EU procedures is an asset;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (at least C2 level).
