Global objective

The Global objective of the assignment is to help the Republic of Mauritius move towards a high-income, innovation driven economy, in particular through the protection of Intellectual Property Rights, the leveraging of research and innovation locally and by bridging the technological gap between research and the business world through technology transfer from abroad.

Specific objectives

The specific objective of the assignment is to assist the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in improving the knowledge and expertise on IPR and its benefits as well as encourage technology transfer agreements between Mauritian and EU companies through its Accelerated Technology Transfer Platform (Annex I).

The activities to be organised to reach this objective are mainly:

  • Setting up and operationalisation of the 'MCCI Accelerated Technology Transfer Platform' as the focal point for business operators involved in and interested in Intellectual Property (IP) and technology acquisition in Mauritius;
  • Organisation of Peer-to-Peer learning with Technology Partners;
  • Sensitisation of business operators on the use, protection and commercialisation of IP and the benefits and opportunities for technology transfer;
  • Establishment of Technology partnership linkages between the MCCI and relevant International Partners;
  • Training of practitioners on the drafting of IPR Agreements.


Education and Skills

  • At least a Master's degree in either Economics, Law, Management, Science, or any relevant related discipline;
  • Or in its absence at least 12 years of work experience in the related field.

General professional experience

  • At least 12 years' experience in the field of IPR and Technology Transfer Agreements;
  • At least 10 years' experience in training.

Specific professional experience

  • At least 2 previous assignment in training of legal professionals and relevant stakeholders in drafting of IPR Agreements.

Language skills

  • Good command of English, including communication and writing skills.
